[LEFT][B]Basic open guard position with cross lapel grip and same side sleeve grip. Opponent is working pant control by your knee. Curl your leg over his arm and straighten it through his armpit. From there you immediately transition into an armbar.[/B]
[BREAK=Basic Open Guard to Triangle]
[B]Open guard position with a cross lapel grip and a cross sleeve grip. Your opponent grabs your ankle or your pants near the ankle. From their you reach under your leg/knee and grab his wrist. Then kick your leg out as you pull his arm down and shoot your legs up for a triangle choke.

[B]Another very common scenario where you can do the under the leg grip break when your opponent grabs your ankle is if you attempt a triangle choke off of an oma plata and your opponent defends by grabbing your ankle. The oma plata to triangle is a very common combination used by many people and this is a very common scenario.[/B]
